Visit CAF Centex Air Wing's Hanger & Museum and enjoy our new multimedia experience.

Our planes bear witness to our troops' valor & sacrifice.

We invite you to visit the Commemorative Air Force – 
Central Texas Air Wing's Hanger/Museum of Living Aviation History.

Open to the public: 
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. 

Hours: 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Admission is Free.

All donations will be accepted ($3.00/person suggested.)
There is adequate parking and we are ADA accessible.

Enjoy our New multimedia tour with recent & vintage videos, photos and WWII era music. The tour is available in most languages and as convenient as your smart phone or tablet.

You can even reserve a memorable flight on the "Yellow Rose."
Arguably the fate of the free world may have rested on these war-birds and their pilots’ continued success. Their speed, agility, their ability to stay ahead of the pack and survive deadly aerial combat was crucial to the Allied victory in WWII.
We are a Living History Museum. Keeping our planes flying and preserving the memory of those who served to keep this nation free is our mission.

Our Air Wing invites guests to visit our fully functional hanger/museum. There is always some interesting activity going on here. All our planes are kept flyable as flying witnesses to the past.
There's always something new to see. Witness these 70 year old war planes reemerge from pieces and fly between your visits.

Podría decirse que el destino del Mundo Libre (WWII) fue basado en estas naves de combate y al éxito de sus pilotos. La velocidad, agilidad, y capacidad para mantenerse por delante de la parvada y sobrevivir el combate aéreo mortal fue crucial para la victoria.
Somos un Museo y Hangar de historia vivo. Nuestra misión es tener a nuestros aviones volando y preservar la memoria de los que sirvieron para mantener esta nación libre.

CAF Centex Historic Aircraft, Hanger and Museum offers visitors a true WWII experience

An authentic WWII experience awaits you in San Marcos.
The General Public can enjoy our vintage aircraft & historic WWII hanger, multi-media museum exhibits, and comprehensive aviation library. Invited guests can also visit our "Officers Club" and runway observation area.

Our historic WWII & Korean War hanger welcomes you 
View our vintage WWII aircraft that regularly fly throughout Central Texas and the United States.
Aircrafts in our hanger include a very rare flying P-39 Bell Airacobra, P-40 Warhawk, Lockheed T-33 jet trainer, PT-17 Stearman WWII trainer, two WW II Liaison spotter planes, and a T-34 Mentor trainer. Replicas include a CAF Japanese "Kate" torpedo bomber and a Japanese Zero, built for the movie Tora,Tora,Tora.

One of several AT-6 Texans,/SNJ at our hanger.
Our hanger is a fully functioning maintenance and restoration facility.
Our workshops can totally rebuild planes to their original glory and remake them  functional flying aircraft.
Metal Bending and shaping equipment and the know how to use it is essential in rebuilding planes to flying condition.

Sand Blasting and refinishing vintage parts is essential in maintaining theses planes, Sourcing new or recycled components is also a constant challenge.
Our simple Spray booth does its job. We take great effort that the booth and the spray suit conform with OSHA guidelines.
Planes are stripped down to their original frames and re-primed.
Our BT-13 is slowly coming together again after being totally taken apart. Soon it will be in flying condition again.
 Our wood workshop gives us the ability to recreate many types of vintage aircraft.
Our restorative efforts include other vintage military equipment like this jeep.

Our Historic WWII Hanger provides a great backdrop for historical themed events.
Our hanger also serves as a great venue for entertaining our local community. Our annual Veterans Day Dinner Dance has become part of the San Marcos social scene,

Our Aviation Museum now offers fully mobile accessed multi-media displays.
Our Museum also offers a true Multi-Media experience with videos and music.

Our comfortable "Officers Club" has a great runway viewing area. The "Officers' Club" is available for select events of local civic organizations, order-in food & beverage services also available.
